Man Fatally Gunned Down Early Tuesday Morning In Southeast, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that tragically claimed the life of a 31-year-old man that occurred during the early morning hours of Tuesday in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Tuesday, August 26, 2025, just shortly before 12:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment complex located on the 300 Block of Anacostia Road in Southeast, D.C.
Police Find Man Shot Inside, At The Location
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a man, later identified as Franck Foute Mohdjiom, 31, of Southeast, D.C., inside, at the location suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound. Mr. Mohdjiom was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Mohdjiom succumbed to his injury and was subsequently pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported at this time as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the fatal shooting.
