Atlantic City Man Sentenced For Vehicle & Casino Sports Bar Burglaries

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ.- A 56-year-old Atlantic City, New Jersey, man will be spending the next three years in New Jersey State Prison, after being sentenced last Friday, for two burglaries he committed in the summer of 2024 and the spring of 2025 in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Friday, August 29, 2025, Angel Ortiz-Caraballo, 56, of Atlantic City, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Joseph Levin to three years in New Jersey State Prison, after pleading guilty on April 25, 2025, to two counts of third-degree Burglary.
Friday’s Sentence Stems Fro Two Burglaries Ortiz-Caraballo Committed
Friday’s sentence stems from an investigation that began on June 14, 2024, when members of the Atlantic City Police Department responded to 1617 Madison Avenue in the City after receiving a report of an unknown man sitting in a parked car. Upon arrival, Police Officers encountered Ortiz-Caraballo walking away from the caller’s car holding items he had taken from the victim’s vehicle. Ortiz-Caraballo was taken into custody by Police Officers at the scene and charged.
On April 6, 2025, Ortiz-Caraballo unlawfully entered A Damn Good Sports Bar, located inside the Tropicana Hotel & Casino, after business hours, and utilized a tool to pry open the liquor storage cage, causing around $400 in damages. He then stole around $800 in liquor and was apprehended by Police Officers inside the sports bar and formally charged.
