Coal City Drug Dealer Pleads Guilty To Methamphetamine Distribution

BECKLEY, W.VA.- A 47-year-old Coal City, West Virginia, man, and local meth dealer will be facing up to forty years in federal prison when sentenced early next year, after pleading guilty on Tuesday, to selling methamphetamine to a confidential informant last summer in Beaver, West Virginia.

     According to Acting U.S. Attorney Lisa G. Johnston, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Jeremy Dale Shuck, 47, of Coal City, West Virginia, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia and pleaded guilty before U.S. Magistrate Judge Omar J. Aboulhosn to Distribution of Five Grams or More of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine.

Shuck Faces Up To 40 Years In Prison

     Following entering his guilty plea on Tuesday, Judge Aboulhosn accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for January 23, 2026. At that time, Shuck faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 40 years in federal prison, at least four years of supervised release, and a $5 million fine. 

     At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Shuck’s prior criminal history.

According To Court Documents

     According to the charging documents filed with the District Court, on July 16, 2024, during an investigation, Shuck sold during a controlled buy under the observation of law enforcement Investigators, 13.92 grams of methamphetamine to a confidential informant in exchange for $200 in a gas station parking lot in Beaver, West Virginia.

     Acting U.S. Attorney Johnston commended the investigative work of the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives for Shuck’s arrest and Tuesday’s guilty plea.
