Passaic Man Struck By Gunfire Labor Day Morning In Passaic

PASSAIC, NJ.- The Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Passaic Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting, after a 24-year-old Passaic, New Jersey, man arrived at the hospital seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

     According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Monday, September 1, 2025, shortly after 5:00 a.m., members of the Passaic Police Department responded to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson after being notified that a 24-year-old Passaic, New Jersey, man had arrived at the hospital requesting treatment for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Detectives Determine The Man Was Shot On Dayton Avenue And President Street

     During the initial investigation and following interviewing the victim, Detectives and Police Officers determined that the man was struck by gunfire in the area of Dayton Avenue and President Street in the City of Passaic. Police Officers were able to locate evidence of a shooting crime scene at the location.

     The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been made as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
