WALL TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 37-year-old Ocean County, New Jersey, woman and a former Wall Township High School teacher has admitted to engaging in inappropriate sexual relationships with two of her former students over several years.
According to Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago, Julie Rizzitello, 37, of Brick Township, New Jersey, appeared last week in Monmouth County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Jill G. O’Malley to two counts of second-degree Sexual Assault. In return for the guilty plea, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Rizzitello be sentenced to ten years in New Jersey State Prison.
Investigation Uncovers Teacher Engaged In Sexual Acts With Students
The guilty plea stems from an investigation that began last year, when Detectives of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Bureau, with assistance from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Brick Township Police Department, determined that Rizzitello, while employed as a Wall Township High School teacher, engaged in sexual relationships with separate students, which took place in three towns during various times over several years. Rizzitello was taken into custody last summer and formally charged.
After being processed on charges, Rizzitello was initially lodged in the Monmouth County Correctional Institution. Following a detention hearing in Monmouth County Superior Court, a Superior Court Judge ordered her released on monitoring conditions.
Following entering her guilty plea last week, Judge O’Malley accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for January 9, 2026. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Rizzitello will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law restrictions and be subject to parole supervision for life, and will be banned from holding public employment.Â
