Mexican Man Pleads Guilty To Transporting Child Porn Into The U.S.

CONCORD, NH.- A 27-year-old Mexican national is facing up to five years in federal prison when sentenced later this year, after pleading guilty on Tuesday in Federal Court in Concord, New Hampshire, for transporting digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children, while illegally crossing the Canadian border into the United States.
According to U.S. Attorney Erin Creegan, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Jose Rodriguez-Garcia, 27, of Mexico, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Hampshire and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Landya McCafferty to a criminal information charging one count of Transportation of Child Pornography.
Rodriguez Will Be Facing Up To 5 Years In Federal Prison
Following entering his guilty plea, Judge McCafferty accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for December 15, 2025. At that time, Rodriguez-Garcia faces up to 5 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Rodriguez-Garcia’s prior criminal history.
Rodriguez-Garcia, who is currently being detained, upon completion of any sentence imposed, will face immediate deportation proceedings and be removed from the United States.
According To Court Documents
According to charging information and statements made in the District Court, on June 6, 2024, Rodriguez-Garcia and another man were observed by U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agents crossing from Canada into New Hampshire at Stream Road. During his arrest procedure and subsequent search, Agents uncovered several electronic media devices, including a thumb drive that contained child pornography.
   U.S. Attorney Creegan commended the investigative work of Homeland Security Investigations and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol for the apprehension of Rodriguez-Garcia and Tuesday’s guilty plea.Â
