BRIDGEPORT, CT.- A 34-year-old Ecuadorian national, who was illegally residing in Danbury, Connecticut, learned he will have to spend the next 25 years in federal prison, after being sentenced last Tuesday for sexually abusing a young girl for nearly three years, beginning when the girl was just nine years old, and filming the abuse with his cell phone.

According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, Enrique Paulo Pucha-Jimenez, 34, formerly residing in Danbury, Connecticut, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Kari A. Dooley to 300 months in federal prison, for his previously entered guilty plea to Production of Child Pornography.

According To Court Documents

According to documents filed with the District Court, on multiple occasions beginning in November 2020 and lasting through August 2023, Pucha-Jimenez sexually abused a young girl, who was between the approximate ages of nine and twelve. During the sexual abuse, Pucha-Jimenez used his cellular phone to take photographs and record videos of his sexual abuse of the child.

Pucha-Jimenez Was First Arrest On State Charges

On August 16, 2023, Detectives of the Danbury Police Department arrested Pucha-Jimenez on Connecticut State charges of child sexual assault and risk of injury offense. At that time, Detectives seized Pucha-Jimenez’s cellular phone. During a subsequent forensic examination of his phone, Investigators uncovered 576 digital images and 36 video files depicting Pucha-Jimenez sexually assaulting the child.

Pucha-Jimenez has remained in custody since his arrest. On August 1, 2024, he pleaded guilty in Federal Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, to the charge of production of child pornography, for which he was sentenced. The State charges against Pucha-Jimenez remain pending in Connecticut Superior Court. Pucha-Jimenez will face immediate deportation proceedings upon completion of his term of imprisonment.

U.S. Attorney Sullivan commended the investigative work of the Danbury Police Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and the Office of the State’s Attorney for the Judicial District of Danbury.
