Man Struck By Gunfire Early Monday Morning In Paterson, New Jersey

PATERSON, NJ.- Detectives of the Paterson Police Department’s Shooting Investigation Unit and the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding a shooting that occurred this morning, in the 4th Ward’s People’s Park neighborhood in the City of Paterson, leaving a 34-year-old man hospitalized.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Monday, September 8, 2025, at around 5:00 a.m., members of the Paterson Police Department responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Lakeview and 23rd Avenues in the City of Paterson.
Police Officers Find Man Shot On The Street
Upon arrival, Police Officers found a 34-year-old Paterson, New Jersey, suffering from a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center for treatment. The man’s condition is unknown at this time. Responding Police Officers were able to locate a shooting crime scene at the location.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported at this time as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting.
