Police Seeking Suspect In Last Month’s Northwest Robbery & Stabbing

WASHINGTON, DC.- The D.C. Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a person of interest in connection with an armed robbery and stabbing that occurred during the early morning hours in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Friday, August 15, 2025, just shortly before 2:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery and stabbing on the 1700 Block of Columbia Road in Northwest, D.C.

Police Officers Find Victim Injured In Robbery

     Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim who had sustained a laceration and a non-life-threatening stab wound. At the time, the victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment and has since been released and continues to recover at home.

During The Initial Investigation, Police Officers Learn The Victim Was Stabbed During A Robbery

     During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers and Detectives learned they were approached by a male suspect, who asked the victim to buy him a beer. When the victim pulled out their money, the suspect quickly snatched the cash and attempted to flee on foot. The victim chased the suspect, and a physical altercation ensued.

     During the altercation, the suspect pulled out two knives and made verbal threats to kill the victim and robbed their cell phone. The suspect then swung one of the knives, slashing the victim, causing a laceration. The suspect then stabbed the victim before fleeing the scene. During the ensuing investigation, Detectives recovered video surveillance footage of the person of interest, who can be seen first appearing in the above video footage.
