Shelton Man Sentenced For Producing Digital Images Of Child Pornography

BRIDGEPORT, CT.- Last Monday, a 54-year-old Shelton, Connecticut, man, formally employed as a preschool teacher and in-home nanny, learned he would be nearly eighty years old when he gets out of federal prison, after being sentenced for producing and possessing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of young children, including two he created by sexual abusing a male toddler.

     According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Monday, September 8, 2025, Ross DeLibro, 54, of formerly of Shelton, Connecticut, currently in custody, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Stefan R. Underhill to 288 months in federal prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to federal child pornography crimes.

According To Documents Filed With The District Court

     According to court documents and statements made during the sentencing hearing, in March 2024, a Detective assigned to the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes Unit launched an investigation into the sharing of digital images and video files of child pornography through a peer-to-peer file sharing network. The investigation identified an IP address associated with DeLibro’s Shelton, Connecticut, residence that was being utilized to share child pornography.

Investigators Uncovered Tha DeLibro Was A Preschool Teacher

     The investigation further uncovered that DeLibro had worked since at least 2007 as a preschool teacher and an in-home nanny for several Connecticut families with young children. DeLibro had a degree in early childhood education and solicited his in-home nanny business through a popular and legitimate digital employment website.

     On May 1, 2024, following the investigation, Investigators obtained and executed a court-authorized search warrant at DeLibro’s Shelton residence. During the search, Investigators seized his Apple MacBook Air, his iPhone, an external hard drive, and other items.

     A subsequent forensic examination of the seized devices uncovered digital images and video files depicting male children being sexually abused, including two digital images in which DeLibro was engaging in sexually explicit conduct with a toddler.

     DeLibro, who has been detained since his arrest on June 11, 2024, on related Connecticut State charges. On May 15, 2024, DeLibro appeared in Federal Court in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and pleaded guilty to Production of Child Pornography and Possession of Child Pornography.
