New Britain Man Sentenced For Filming His Sexual Abuse Of A Child

NEW HAVEN, CT.- Yesterday, a 74-year-old New Britain, Connecticut, child predator learned he will most likely die in federal prison, after being sentenced to two decades in federal prison for sexually abusing and assaulting a young girl and video recording his abuse, and possessing thousands of digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of prepubescent and pubescent children.
According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, Orlando Guzman, 74, formerly of New Britain, Connecticut, currently detained in federal custody, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Victor A. Bolden to 240 months in federal prison to be followed by a lifetime of supervised release, after pleading guilty to Production of Child Pornography; and Possession of Child Pornography.
According To Court Documents
According to charging documents and statements made during yesterday’s sentencing hearing, in 2022, Investigators with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations had launched an investigation into a network of individuals who had been using private chat groups on an internet chat application to share digital images and video files depicting child sexual exploitation and abuse. The investigation uncovered that an account associated with Guzman was an active member of two of those groups.
The investigation further uncovered that between February and August 2022, Guzman repeatedly sexually abused a young girl and used his mobile devices to video record and store digital images and video files he created of his sexual abuse of the child.
Investigators Locate Over 10,000 Media Files Of Child Porn
On September 2, 2022, Federal Investigators executed a court-authorized search of Guzman’s mobile devices. A forensic examination of the devices uncovered around 4,000 video files and 7,000 digital images of child pornography, including digital images and video files depicting Guzman sexually assaulting his young victim.
   U.S. Attorney Sullivan commended the investigative work of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the New Britain Police Department for Guzman’s apprehension and prosecution.
