Grove City Pleads Guilty To A Federal Child Pornography Offense

PITTSBURGH, PA.- A 40-year-old Grove City, Pennsylvania, child predator will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison when he is sentenced early next year, after pleading guilty last Tuesday, to transporting over 1,000 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
According to Acting U.S. Attorney Troy Rivetti, on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Michael William Boston, 40, of Grove City, Pennsylvania, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania and pleaded guilty before U.S. District Court Judge Christy Criswell Wiegand to one count of Transporting Child Pornography in Interstate Commerce.
Boston Will Be Facing Up To 20 Years When Sentenced
Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Wiegand accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for January 20, 2026. At that time, Boston faces a mandatory minimum of five years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000. At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Boston’s prior criminal history.
In addition to the term of imprisonment, Boston will be required to register as a sex offender in the national database and may be required to pay restitution to any of his identified victims.
According To Court Documents
According to documents filed and statements made in the District Court, on October 25, 2022, during an internet child pornography investigation, Boston was identified as transporting material over the internet depicting the sexual exploitation of a child in interstate commerce. During his plea allocution, Boston admitted to transporting child pornography on specific dates in April 2023 and July 2023.
Boston further admitted that he possessed more than 1,500 digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation of children.
Acting U.S. Attorney Rivetti commended the investigative work of the Pennsylvania State Police’s Northwest Computer Crime Unit and U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, which led to Boston’s arrest and guilty plea on Tuesday.
