BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Friday, a 37-year-old Brick Township, New Jersey, woman was sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison in connection with breaking into a Berkeley Township, New Jersey, dollar store, then shortly thereafter committing a knifepoint robbery of a nearby convenience store, during the early morning hours of October 15, 2024.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Friday, September 26, 2025, Jessica Napolitano, 37, of Brick Township, New Jersey, appeared in Ocean County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Kenneth T. Palmer to 5 years in State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Napolitano to serve 85% of her custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. In addition, Judge Palmer sentenced Napolitano to a concurrent three-year State Prison term after pleading guilty early last month to two felony charges.

Napolitano previously appeared in Ocean County Superior Court on August 4, 2025, and pleaded guilty to one count of Robbery; and one count of Burglary.

As Previously Reported Last Year

As previously reported, on October 15, 2024, shortly before 4:30 a.m., members of the Berkeley Township Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery at The Corner Store, located on Ocean Gate Drive in the Township. Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that a woman had entered the store, pulled out a knife, pointed it at the cashier, and demanded money and cigarettes. The store’s cashier complied with the woman’s demands, who then fled the scene.

During the investigation, responding Police Officers learned that just prior to the knifepoint robbery, a woman threw a rock through the front window of the Dollar General Store on Atlantic City Boulevard and entered the store in an attempt to gain access to cigarettes. She quickly left the store after her efforts were unsuccessful and headed to The Corner Store.

Police Officers were able to identify Napolitano as the individual responsible for both incidents. She was later located in nearby Lakewood Township, New Jersey, and taken into custody without incident and charged. After being processed on the charges, Napolitano was transported to the Ocean County Jail and subsequently released on non-monetary monitoring conditions. Napolitano is currently detained in the Ocean County Jail on an unrelated charge.
