Police Charge Man In Northwest Stabbing Investigation

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Sunday, a 37-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with stabbing a food delivery person that occurred during the afternoon hours on Sunday, in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Sunday, September 28, 2025, just shortly before 4:00 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a stabbing on the 2700 Block of Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest, D.C.
Police Officers Learn The Victim Was Stabbed During A Dispute
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that the victim, a food delivery person, was delivering a food order to an individual at a residence on Wisconsin Avenue. During the delivery, the suspect disputed the price of the order with the victim. As the victim attempted to complete the delivery, the suspect assaulted the victim, pulled out a knife, and stabbed the victim multiple times.
Following the stabbing, the suspect then fled the scene. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of multiple non-life-threatening stab wounds.
During the investigation, based on a description and information provided by the victim, Police Officers located the suspect, identified as Travis Cole, 37, of Northwest, D.C., in a nearby apartment building and placed him under arrest. Based on the investigation, Police Officers formally charged Cole with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon.
Cole was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
