Bergen County Medical Tech Charged With Raping A Patient

HACKENSACK, NJ.- On Tuesday, following a swift-moving investigation, a 41-year-old Dumont, New Jersey, man, employed as a medical technician at Hackensack University Medical Center, was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a woman while she was undergoing a procedure at the medical center.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, the Hackensack Police Department contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after the Police Department received a report regarding the alleged sexual assault of a female patient that occurred during the morning hours at Hackensack University Medical Center, and an investigation ensued.
During The Investigation, Detectives Uncover The Sexual Assault
During the investigation, following interviewing witnesses, including the victim, Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office and the Hackensack Police Department determined that Asher Younis, 41, of Dumont, New Jersey, an electrocardiogram technician, sexually assaulted a female patient.
Accordingly, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, Younis was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and third-degree Criminal Sexual Contact. Younis was processed on the charges and remanded to the Bergen County Jail, pending future court proceedings in the Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
