Police Charge Man In Mount Pleasant Snatch & Grab Northwest Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Wednesday, a 32-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and charged in connection with an early morning snatch-and-grab robbery that occurred inside a residence in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, just minutes before 4:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery at a residence located on the 3400 Block of Brown Street in Northwest, D.C.
Police Officers Learn That The Victim Met The Suspect On A Dating App
Upon arrival, Police Officers learned that the victim and the suspect had arranged to meet after connecting on a Social Media Dating app. During their encounter inside the suspect’s residence, a dispute ensued in which the suspect forcibly stole the victim’s money and belongings and chased the victim out of the residence.
Following taking the initial report, Police Officers located the suspect, later identified as Aaron Ashe, Jr., 32, of Northwest, D.C., on the scene and placed him under arrest. After being taken into custody, Ashe was formally charged with one count of Snatch and Grab Robbery. He was processed on the charge pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
