JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 16-year-old Jackson Township, New Jersey, boy was tragically killed late Wednesday afternoon after the car he was driving was struck head-on by a pickup truck being operated by an 18-year-old woman in Jackson Township, New Jersey.

According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, just shortly before 6:00 p.m., members of the Jackson Township Police Department responded to reports of a serious motor vehicle collision on East Veterans Highway in the Township.

Upon Arrival, Police Officers Located Serious Head-On Collision

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 2019 Ford F-150 pickup truck being driven by an 18-year-old woman and containing a front seat passenger who had collided head-on into a 2009 Nissan Altima, being driven by a 16-year-old Jackson Township boy. The teenage boy was immediately transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus in Lakewood, New Jersey, where, despite life-saving efforts, the teen succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.

The driver of the Ford F-150 pickup truck and her passenger were also transported to Monmouth Medical Center-Southern Campus, where they were treated for minor injuries and released.

During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crime Unit, Vehicular Homicide Squad, and the Jackson Township Police Department determined that the pickup truck was traveling eastbound on East Veterans Highway when it crossed over into the westbound lanes and struck the Nissan Altima head-on, causing the teen boy to sustain fatal injuries in the collision.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests or charges have been filed as of Thursday night.
