New Brunswick Man Fatally Gunned Down Wednesday Night In The City Of New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- Detectives of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the New Brunswick Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of an 18-year-old New Brunswick, New Jersey, man, who was fatally gunned down late Wednesday night on a New Brunswick street.
According to Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, just minutes after 11:30 p.m., members of the New Brunswick Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unconscious man lying on Pine Street in the City of New Brunswick.
Police Officers Find 18-Year-Old Man Shot Dead
Upon arrival, Police Officers found the lifeless body of Fernando Buezo Diaz, 18, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, lying on the ground, having succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds. Mr. Buezo Diaz was subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers and Detectives have determined that the shooting does not appear to be a random act of violence and there is no threat to the public.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported at this time, as Detectives continue the search for the gunman and a motive for the shooting death.
