Detectives Charge Two In Last Wednesday’s New Brunswick Homicide

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ.- Yesterday, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone reported that Detectives have charged a 20-year-old New Brunswick, New Jersey, man and a 17-year-old North Brunswick, New Jersey, juvenile male in connection with the shooting death of an 18-year-old man that occurred last Wednesday in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

     As previously reported, on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, just shortly after 11:30 p.m., members of the New Brunswick Police Department responded to reports of gunfire on Pine Street in the City. Upon arrival, Police Officers located Fernando Buezo Diaz, 18, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, unresponsive, having succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Buezo Diaz was pronounced deceased at the scene.

During The Investigation, Detectives Learned That A Fight Led To The Fatal Shooting

     During the initial investigation, Detective Victor Delgado of the New Brunswick Police Department and Stephanie Redline of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office quickly determined that a fight had broken out, and during the altercation, Mr. Buezo Diaz was fatally shot. During further investigation, Detectives learned that Jalen Terrell-Ingram, 20, of New Brunswick, New Jersey, was in possession of a handgun on the night of the shooting.

     On Friday, October 10, 2025, Detectives filed formal charges against Terrell-Ingram for first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. On Monday, October 13, 2025, Terrell-Ingram surrendered himself to Detectives at the New Brunswick Police Department, where he was processed on the charges and remanded pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court.

     On Wednesday, October 15, 2025, the 17-year-old juvenile was taken into custody and charged as a juvenile delinquent with first-degree Murder; first-degree Conspiracy to Commit Murder; second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon; and second-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose. The teen was processed on the charges and was remanded pursuant to a juvenile custody order pending future court proceedings in Middlesex County Superior Court Family Law Division.
