WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ.- On Friday, a 43-year-old Washington Township, New Jersey, child predator learned he will be spending a decade in New Jersey State Prison, after being sentenced for possessing and creating digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.

According to Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns, on Friday, October 17, 2025, Kevin Tomafsky, 43, of Washington Township, New Jersey, appeared in Gloucester County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Roger Lai to 10 years in State Prison following his conviction of first-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child, for Manufacturing and Possessing Child Pornography.

In handing down the sentence on Friday, Judge Lai ordered Tomafsky to serve a mandatory minimum of five years before becoming eligible for parole. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Tomafsky will be subject to parole supervision for life and be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law registration requirements.

According to court documents, on December 14, 2022, during an online child pornography investigation, Investigators of the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit executed a court-authorized search warrant at Tomafsky’s Washington, Township, New Jersey home.

During the search, Investigators seized multiple electronic devices belonging to Tomafsky. A forensic examination of the devices uncovered digital images and video files depicting child pornography. Further investigation discovered that Tomafsky created some of the images and transmitted them over the internet. At the time of the search, Tomafsky was taken into custody and charged.
