SOMERS POINT, NJ.- A 30-year-old Somers Point, New Jersey, child predator will be spending three years in New Jersey State Prison when sentenced later this year, after pleading guilty on Monday for engaging in oral sex with a young teenage girl.
According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Monday, October 20, 2025, Tyrique Beckett, 30, of Somers Point, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Donna M. Taylor to one count of third-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child.
Beckett Is Facing Up To 3 Years In Prison, When Sentenced
In return for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Beckett be sentenced to a term of three years in State Prison. In addition to the term of imprisonment, Beckett will be subject to parole supervision for life and be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law registration requirements. Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Taylor accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for December 15, 2025.
The guilty plea stems from an investigation that began when, on October 21, 2024, the Somers Point Police Department received a report of a child being sexually assaulted. A family member of the child provided Detectives with a video she received, sent from Beckett’s cellular phone. The video depicted Beckett receiving oral sex from the 14-year-old girl.
During an interview with the child, she informed Detectives that Beckett had asked her for oral sex. The child then advised Detectives that she was unaware that Beckett was video recording the sexual act.
Following the investigation, Detectives arrested and formally charged Beckett with the crime, which resulted in Monday’s guilty plea.
