Bergen County Man Charged With Physically Assaulting A Child

HACKENSACK, NJ.- On Wednesday, following an investigation, a 34-year-old Hackensack, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with physically assaulting a child.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, a caseworker from the New Jersey Division of Child Protection and Permanency contacted the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit after the caseworker received a report regarding the alleged physical assault of a child.
Detectives Determine The Child Was Physically Assaulted
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Bergen County Special Victims Unit and the Hackensack Police Department determined that Eluah E. Holder, 34, of Hackensack, New Jersey, physically assaulted the child by repeatedly striking the child in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Accordingly, on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, Holder was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child; and third-degree Aggravated Assault. Holder was arrested by Detectives in Bergenfield, New Jersey. He was processed on the charges and was remanded to the Bergen County Jail pending future court proceedings in Bergen County Superior Court in Hackensack, New Jersey.
