Bayonne Man Charged In Monday Night’s Stabbing Death Of Garfield Man

BAYONNE, NJ.- A Monday night domestic dispute turned deadly, leaving a 41-year-old Garfield, New Jersey, man dead, and a 28-year-old Bayonne, New Jersey, man charged with his stabbing death.
According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Monday, November 3, 2025, just shortly before 10:30 p.m., members of the Bayonne Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an apparent domestic dispute at a residence located at 17 Meadow Street in Bayonne.
Police Officers Locate Garfield Man Fatally Stabbed
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a man, later identified as Richard Acosta, 41, of Garfield, New Jersey, unresponsive, having sustained a life-threatening stab wound. Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Acosta succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased a short time later. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.
During the initial investigation, Detectives of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Bayonne Police Department determined that during a dispute, Andrew Fuentes, 28, of Bayonne, had fatally stabbed Mr. Acosta.
Accordingly, on Monday, November 3, 2025, Fuentes was taken into custody without incident at the scene and formally charged with first-degree Aggravated Manslaughter; third-degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose; and fourth-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. Fuentes was processed on the charges and remains in custody pending his First Appearance in Hudson County Central Judicial Processing Court in Jersey City, New Jersey.
The case remains under investigation and is currently being investigated as a case of domestic violence.
