WASHINGTON, DC.- On Friday, a 38-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with jumping and robbing a man last Saturday afternoon in Northeast, D.C.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at around 3:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a robbery on the 2400 Block of Market Street in Northeast, D.C.

Victim Tells Police He Was Jumped From Behind And Robbed

Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim who reported that while on Market Street, he was approached from behind by a male suspect who assaulted and robbed him of his cellular phone. As the suspect fled the scene, he threw the man’s cell phone to the ground. The victim self-transported himself to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

On Friday, November 7, 2025, based on a description provided by the victim, Police Officers spotted a man matching the description and placed him under arrest. Following being placed into custody, Police Officers formally charged Eddie Lucas, 38, with no known address, with one count of Robbery by Force and Violence.

Lucas was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: The charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and the defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
