HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 45-year-old Mays Landing, New Jersey, man will be facing up to seven years in New Jersey State Prison, after pleading guilty on Friday, to unlawfully possessing a firearm during an August 2023 incident.

According to Atlantic County Prosecutor William E. Reynolds, on Friday, November 7, 2025, Anthony Palmeri, 45, of the Mays Landing section of Hamilton Township, New Jersey, appeared in Atlantic County Superior Court and pleaded guilty before Superior Court Judge Dorothy Incarvito-Garrabrant to one count of second-degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon.

In Return For The Guilty Plea, Palmeri Will Be Facing 7 Years In Prison

In return for the guilty plea, the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office will be recommending that Palmeri be sentenced to a term of seven years in State Prison, subject to the Graves Act, which will require Palmeri to serve 42 months of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole. Following entering his guilty plea, Judge Incarvito-Garrabrant accepted the plea and scheduled Palmeri to be sentenced on January 2, 2026, in Atlantic County Superior Court.

The charge and guilty plea stem from an incident that unfolded on August 24, 2023, when members of the Hamilton Township Police Department responded to a home in Mays Landing, New Jersey, to serve Palmeri with a Temporary Restraining Order. The Temporary Restraining Order had a warrant to search and seize any weapons for safekeeping, specifically listing in the warrant a black revolver.

Despite initially denying possessing the revolver, Police Officers subsequently searched the residence and located a black .22-caliber Heritage MFG revolver, loaded with three rounds of ammunition. Palmeri was taken into custody at that time.
