Police Charge Woman In September 2025 Southeast, D.C. Stabbing

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, pursuant to a DC Superior Court warrant, a 44-year-old Washington, D.C., woman was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly stabbing a woman in September 2025, in Southeast, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, and as previously reported, on Monday, September 29, 2025, just shortly after 1:30 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a stabbing on the 2400 Block of Marion Barry Avenue in Southeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a woman, suffering from a non-life-threatening stab wound. At the time, the woman was transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where she was treated and has made a full recovery.
Detectives Identify The Suspect As A D.C. Woman
During the ensuing investigation, and based on a description provided by the victim, Detectives determined that during a dispute, the suspect, identified as Tekesia Atiya Hancock, 44, of Southeast, D.C., pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. Following being identified, a warrant was issued for Hancock’s arrest.
Accordingly, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, Hancock was located and taken into custody and formally charged pursuant to the warrant with one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon. She was processed on the charges and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
