Police Charge Man In Saturday Night’s Northwest Strong-Arm Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Saturday, a 36-year-old Washington, D.C., man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with allegedly committing a robbery in the Adams Morgan neighborhood in Northwest, D.C.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, November 15, 2025, just shortly after 7:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of a robbery that had just occurred on the 2400 Block of 18th Street in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a victim who reported that while on 18th Street, they were approached by an unknown man, who physically assaulted them and forcibly removed his backpack and then fled the scene.
Police Arrest Suspect A Short Time Later
A short time later, while canvassing the area and based on a description provided by the victim, Police Officers located the suspect, later identified as Kantu Graham, 36, with no known address, and placed him under arrest. Following being taken into custody, Graham was formally charged with one count of Robbery by Force and Violence.
He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
