Police Charge Man In September 2025, Northwest, D.C. Stabbing Death

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, a 49-year-old Oxon Hill, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with the brutal stabbing death that occurred back in early September of 2025, in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, and as previously reported, on Saturday, September 13, 2025, just shortly after 3:45 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a stabbing on the 2000 Block of 14th Street in Northwest, D.C.

     Upon arrival at the location, Police Officers discovered a man, later identified as Jermaine Foster, Jr., 34, of Northwest, D.C., on the ground, suffering from multiple life-threatening stab wounds. Mr. Foster was transported to an area hospital, where despite life-saving efforts. Mr. Foster succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased shortly after arriving.

During The Investigation, Detectives Learn Four People Were Injured, One Fatally Stabbed

     During the initial investigation, Responding Police Officers and Detectives determined that Mr. Foster was fatally stabbed during a large altercation, and that three other individuals were injured during the altercation and self-transported themselves to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Detectives Identify Maryland Man As The Suspect

     During the ensuing investigation, Homicide Branch Detectives developed information that during the altercation, Shawn Lamar Conway, 49, of Oxon Hill, Maryland, pulled out a knife and stabbed Mr. Foster multiple times, which resulted in his death. Based on the information and various witness accounts, Detectives filed charges against Conway, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

     Accordingly, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, Conway was located and taken into custody in Suitland, Maryland, by members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force. Conway was transported to the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Homicide Branch, where he was formally charged with second-degree Murder While Armed. He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
