Elderly Man Found Deceased Thursday Along A Tenafly Hiking Trail

TENAFLY, NJ.- Detectives of the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Tenafly Police Department, with assistance from the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Criminal Investigations, are continuing the investigation into the death of a 64-year-old man, whose lifeless body was found Thursday afternoon along a hiking trail at the Tenafly Nature Center.
According to Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella, on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at around 2:00 p.m., members of the Tenafly Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting that a hiker had observed an apparent deceased man at the Tenafly Nature Center.
Police Officers Find Tenafly Man Deceased In A Wooded Area
Upon arrival, Police Officers located the deceased body of Robert Wolmer, 64, of Tenafly, New Jersey, in a wooded area in the Nature Center.
During the initial investigation, Detectives of the Bergen County Major Crimes Unit and the Tenafly Police Department determined that Mr. Wolmer’s death does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
