Rockaway Borough Man Charged With Distributing & Possessing Child Pornography

ROCKAWAY BOROUGH, NJ.- A 38-year-old Rockaway Borough, New Jersey, man will remain detained pending trial after being charged last month with possessing and distributing digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, on November 15, 2025, following an investigation, Armando W. Nogueira, 38, of Rockaway Borough, New Jersey, was formally charged with one count of Possession of Child Pornography. He was processed on the charge and was remanded to the Morris County Correctional Facility. On November 21, 2025, Nogueira was additionally charged with one count of second-degree Distribution of Child Pornography.
During a subsequent detention hearing in Morris County Superior Court, a Superior Court Judge ordered Nogueira to remain detained pending trial on the charges.
Police Were Tipped Off By A Witness Who Observed Child Porn
The charges stem from an investigation that began when a witness came forward, reporting to members of the Rockaway Borough Police Department that they had observed Nogueira allegedly possessing media files containing child pornography on his cellular phone.
During the ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office and the Rockaway Borough Police Department uncovered that Nogueira was utilizing his cellular phone to possess and distribute digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children.
