Norwalk Man Pleads Guilty To Possession Of Child Pornography

HARTFORD, CT.-A 36-year-old Norwalk, Connecticut, man and convicted child predator learned he will be facing up to 20 years in federal prison, when sentenced, after pleading guilty last Wednesday in Federal Court in Hartford, Connecticut, to a federal criminal complaint charging him with one count of federal child pornography offense.

     According to U.S. Attorney David X. Sullivan, on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, Rudolph Girdhari, 36, of Norwalk, Connecticut, currently in state custody, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of Connecticut and waived his right to indictment and pleaded guilty to one count of Possession of Child Pornography.

     Following entering his guilty plea, the Court accepted the plea and scheduled sentencing for February 27, 2026. At that time, Girdhari faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and up to 20 years in federal prison, at least 5 years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a $250,000 fine.

     At sentencing, a U.S. District Court Judge will determine the term of imprisonment based on the seriousness of the offense and Girdhari’s prior criminal history.

According To Charging Documents Filed With The Court

     According to the charging information filed with the District Court, in May 2012, Girdhari was convicted in Connecticut State Court on a second-degree charge of possession of child pornography. He was subsequently sentenced to ten years in State Prison, suspended after two years, and 20 years of probation.

     In 2022 and 2023, a Federal Bureau of Investigation Investigation into individuals sharing and trading digital images and video files depicting the sexual exploitation and abuse of children on Wickr, an encrypted communication service, uncovered an email account connected to Girdhari that was being utilized to two child pornography trading networks on Wickr.

     On May 2, 2024, Federal Investigators executed a court-authorized search warrant at Girdhari’s residence in Norwalk, Connecticut. During the search, Investigators seized multiple electronic devices. A subsequent forensic examination of the devices uncovered more than 2,000 digital images and video files containing child pornography.

     Girdhari has remained in state custody since his initial arrest on May 16, 2024, for violating the terms and conditions of his Connecticut State probation.
