Police Charge Suspect In October Northwest, D.C. Armed Robbery

WASHINGTON, DC.- On Tuesday, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department charged a 31-year-old suspect wanted in connection with a knifepoint robbery that occurred in October 2025, in Northwest, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Thursday, October 2, 2025, just shortly after 3:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery on the 1800 Block of Columbia Road in Northwest, D.C.

Police Officers Learn The Suspect Robbed The Victim At Knifepoint

     Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a victim who reported that while walking on the 1800 Block of Columbia Road, he was approached by a suspect who pulled out a knife and robbed him of his money and belongings and then fled the scene.

     Based on a description provided by the victim, and area video surveillance footage, Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Samora Samson Buchanan, 31, of Northwest, D.C., and a warrant was issued for their arrest.

     Accordingly, on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court booking order, Buchanan was taken into custody and formally charged with one count of Armed Robbery. Buchanan was processed on the charge and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
