Man Remains Hospitalized After Being Struck Sunday Night In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Investigators of the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are continuing the investigation into Sunday night’s collision that has left a 61-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey, man hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at around 9:15 p.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to reports of a pedestrian being struck by a vehicle near the intersection of Communipaw and Mallory Avenues in the City’s Westside neighborhood.
Upon arrival, Police Officers located a 61-year-old Jersey City, New Jersey, man suffering from life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle. The man was immediately transported to Jersey City Medical Center, where, as of Tuesday afternoon, he remains hospitalized in critical condition. The striking vehicle remained at the scene.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrest or charges have been filed as of Tuesday afternoon.
