Perland Tractor Trailer Driver Pleads Guilty In June 2025 Fatal Collision

Thursday, December 18, 2025, 12:30 P.M. ET. 2 Minute Read, By Art Fletcher: Englebrook Independent News,

WOOLWICH TOWNSHIP, NJ.- A 41-year-old Perland, Texas, man, and over-the-road cross-country truck driver will be spending the next six years in New Jersey State Prison when sentenced early next year after pleading guilty last Friday in connection with the June 22, 2025, road rage fatal crash, which claimed the life of a 40-year-old Minnesota man.

According to Gloucester County Prosecutor Andrew B. Johns, on Friday, December 12, 2025, Joseph Nyandwaro, 41, of Perland, Texas, appeared in Gloucester County Superior Court and pleaded guilty to one count of second-degree Reckless Vehicular Homicide. In return for the guilty plea, the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office will recommend that Nyandwaro be sentenced to six years in State Prison, subject to the No Early Release Act, which will require Nyandwaro to serve 85% of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole.

According To The Charging Information Filed In The Indictment

According to the charging information unsealed in a September 2025 Grand Jury indictment, on June 22, 2025, Nyandwaro was driving a tractor-trailer in Woolwich Township, New Jersey, when another tractor-trailer being operated by Osman Aden, 40, Minnesota, attempted to pass Nyandwaro’s truck.

While attempting to pass Nyandwaro’s tractor-trailer, he rammed Aden’s tractor-trailer, pushing it into the concrete barrier, resulting in Aden’s death. Nyandwaro then fled the scene. During the ensuing investigation, based on witness accounts and assistance from the Texas-based trucking company, New Jersey State Police Detectives tracked down Nyandwaro’s truck and arrested him. Further investigation revealed that the truck’s video recording showed Nyandwaro ramming his vehicle into Aden’s truck, causing it to strike the center barrier, and revealed Nyandwaro laughing as he fled the scene.

The investigation also uncovered that Nyandwaro tried to conceal the damage to his truck by painting the damaged tractor-trailer.

Sentencing has been scheduled for January 30, 2026, in Gloucester Superior Court in Woodbury, New Jersey. At that time, Nyandwaro will be sentenced to the terms of the plea agreement.
