TRENTON, NJ.- Earlier this month, a 37-year-old Brick, New Jersey, man, and child predator learned he would be spending nearly fifteen years in federal prison after being sentenced for sexually exploiting children for his deviant sexual pleasure.
According to Senior U.S. Federal Counsel, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, Daniel Nilla, 37, of Brick Township, New Jersey, appeared in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and was sentenced by U.S. District Court Judge Michael A. Shipp to 168 months in federal prison, to be followed by ten years of supervised release, after previously pleading guilty to federal child pornography offenses.
Nilla previously appeared in Federal Court in Trenton, New Jersey, and pleaded guilty before Judge Shipp to a federal information charging him with three counts of Receipt of Child Pornography.
According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment and statements made in the District Court. Beginning in December 2021 and lasting through April 2023, Nilla communicated with at least five children via Social Media Instant Messaging applications. During the communications, Nilla knew that he was chatting with children.
During the continued communications, Nilla coerced, enticed, and persuaded the five child victims to send him digital images and video files of themselves engaging in illicit sexual conduct.
During his previous plea allocution, Nilla admitted to the court that he received and used the digital images and video files for his sexual gratification.
The case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative launched in May 2006 by the U.S. Department of Justice to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse.
