WASHINGTON, DC.- On Thursday, a 22-year-old Capitol Heights, Maryland, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with fatally gunning down a man in late October, inside a Northwest, D.C. apartment building.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, on Saturday, October 25, 2025, just shortly before 2:00 a.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Third District responded to a report of gunfire at an apartment building located on 3200 Hiatt Place in Northwest, D.C.
Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a man, later identified as Jermaine McGee-Holmes, 27, of Northeast, D.C., on the ground inside the building, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. McGee-Holmes was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. McGee-Holmes tragically succumbed to his injuries and was subsequently pronounced deceased on Monday, October 27, 2025.
During the ensuing investigation, based on witness accounts and video surveillance camera footage from inside the building and exterior, and recovered from the immediate area, D.C. Metropolitan Homicide Branch Detectives were able to identify the suspect as Alan Reginald Wilson, Jr, 22, of Capitol Heights, Maryland, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
On Thursday, December 18, 2025, Wilson was located and taken into custody. Accordingly, following being taken into custody, Wilson was formally charged pursuant to the DC Superior Court warrant with one count of first-degree Murder While Armed; and one count of Felony Murder. Wilson was processed on the charges and was remanded to the D.C. Central Detention Facility pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia.
