Police Charge Three Teenage Boys In D.C. October Attempted Robbery & Assault

WASHINGTON, DC.- Earlier this week, the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department apprehended three Washington, D.C., teenage boys and formally charged them in connection with an attempted robbery and assault that occurred in late October in Northeast, D.C.

     According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Pamela A. Smith, and as previously reported, on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at around 3:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an assault on the 100 Block of Q Street in Northeast, D.C.

Teen Victim Was Assaulted While Walking From School

     Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a juvenile victim, who reported that while walking home from school on Q Street, they were approached by three teenage boys who demanded the victim’s money and property. When the victim did not comply, the teenage boys then assaulted them and unsuccessfully attempted to rob them. The trio then fled the scene. The victim suffered minor injuries during the assault and was treated on the scene.

     On Sunday, December 14, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court Pre-Petition custody order, the Police arrested a 12-year-old Northeast, D.C., boy and formally charged him with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

     On Monday, December 15, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court Pre-Petition custody order, Police Officers arrested and formally charged a 13-year-old Southeast, D.C., boy with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

     On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, pursuant to a DC Superior Court Pre-Petition custody order, Police Officers located and arrested a 14-year-old Southeast, D.C., boy and formally charged him with Assault with Intent to Commit Robbery.

     All three were processed on the charges and were released to their parents pending future court proceedings in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia, Family Law Division.

“The rules of the court require us to include a statement that states: As in adult criminal cases, the charges outlined in this publication are merely accusations, and a juvenile defendant and or defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.”
