Plainfield Man Dies Of Injuries After Being Struck During An Apparent Fight In Woodland Park

WOODLAND PARK, NJ.- Detectives of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Investigations Unit and the Woodland Park Police Department are continuing the search for the suspect who struck and killed a man during an apparent altercation late Thursday night at a catering hall in Woodland Park, New Jersey.
According to Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, on Thursday, December 18, 2025, just shortly after 11:45 p.m., members of the Woodland Park Police Department responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting an unresponsive man at the West Mount Country Club in Woodland Park.
Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a 46-year-old Plainfield, New Jersey, man, unresponsive after being struck in the face during an apparent physical altercation. The man was immediately transported to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where, despite life-saving efforts, the man succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
Responding Police Officers learned that the suspect, an unidentified male, entered a vehicle and left the scene.
   The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as of early Saturday morning.
