Man Fatally Gunned Down Early Saturday Evening In Northeast, D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC.- Detectives of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department are continuing the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting of a 49-year-old Washington, D.C., man that occurred early Saturday evening in Northeast, D.C.
According to Interim D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffery W. Carroll, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, just shortly before 6:30 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s Sixth District responded to a 911 Emergency Call reporting a shooting in the alley adjacent to the 4400 Block of Jay Street in Northeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, Responding Police Officers located a man, later identified as Junior Almozard, 49, of Northeast, D.C., lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Mr. Almozard was immediately transported by DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services to a nearby hospital, where, despite life-saving efforts, Mr. Almozard tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased a short time later.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. No arrests have been reported as Police continue their search for the suspect and a motive for the shooting.
