33-YEAR-OLD LAKEWOOD MAN CHARGED FOR SELLING COUNTERFEIT U.S. POSTAL STAMPS

     “Yisroel Kornik Following Being Warned Numerous Times Was Taken Into Custody On Wednesday With Selling Counterfeit Stamps From China.”

LAKEWOOD, NJ.- A 33-Year-Old Lakewood, New Jersey man after being warned on Multiple Occasions by U.S. Customs and Border Protection that The United States Postal Stamps that he was buying from China and Selling them on Various Online Platforms were Counterfeit, was finally Taken into Custody and Charged in connection with a string of events that took place in Lakewood from October 2023 through March 2024.

     According to Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, following a Joint Investigation by The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Economic Crime Unit, The United States Homeland Security Investigations, and The United States Postal Inspection Service. 

     During the investigation, Investigators determined that Yisroel Kornik, 33, of Lakewood, New Jersey, had been Purchasing and Importing Counterfeit United States Postage Stamps from China and them on Various Online Platforms such as Amazon and Walmart. Despite being Warned Numerous Times that The Stamps he was Ordering and Reselling were Fake, Kornik continued to Buy and Sell them.

     After disregarding the Warnings, on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, Local, State, and Federal Law Enforcement Agencies Executed a Court Authorized Search Warrant on Kornik’s Lakewood Residence. During the Search, Detectives seized a Quantity of Postal Stamps in excess of $10,000. Following the search Mr. Kornik was Taken into Custody and Charged.

      Following being Processed on The Charge, Kornik was released on a Complaint Summons pending an upcoming First Appearance in Ocean County Superior Court.
