WILDWOOD CREST, NJ.- Detectives of the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Wildwood Crest Police Department continue to search for answers to the events that led to a double fatal shooting, after an elderly couple was found dead inside their Wildwood Crest, New Jersey home on Wednesday in an apparent murder-suicide.

According to Cape May County Prosecutor Jeffrey H. Surtherland, and as previously reported earlier this week, on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, members of the Wildwood Crest Police Department responded to a residence on the 300 Block of Atlanta Avenue in the Borough of Wildwood Crest, where Police Officers discovered the lifeless bodies of Donald Miller, 79, and Marion Miller, 79, both residence of the home, having succumbed to fatal gunshot wounds.

During a comprehensive investigation and following post-mortem examinations, the Southern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Ms. Miller’s Death was a single gunshot wound, and the Cause of Mr. Miller’s Death was the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. More details may become available once it is released by Cape May authorities.

Anyone with additional information regarding this investigation is urged to contact the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit at (609) 465-1135.
