Kearny Man Succumbs To Injuries After Being Struck By A Vehicle In Kearny

HARRISON, NJ.- On Thursday, a 58-year-old Kearny, New Jersey, man tragically succumbed to his injuries sustained after being struck by a vehicle last Thursday in Harrison, New Jersey.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, and as previously reported, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at around 3:30 p.m., members of the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 Emergency call reporting that two men had been struck by a vehicle on Woodland Drive in West Hudson Park in Harrison, New Jersey.
Upon arrival, Sheriff’s Officers located two men suffering from injuries from being struck by a vehicle that remained at the scene. Both men were transported to University Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, where, on Thursday, January 15, 2026, despite life-saving efforts, Gary Gross, 58, of Kearny, New Jersey, tragically succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The second victim, a 48-year-old Kearny, New Jersey, man, remains hospitalized in stable condition.
   The investigation remains active and ongoing, and is being conducted by the Hudson County Regional Collision Investigation Unit and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office.Â
