Deptford Man Charged In Camden County Sex Crimes Undercover Sting

COLLINGSWOOD, NJ.- On Friday, Camden County Prosecutor Grace C. MacAuly reported that earlier this month, a 38-year-old Gloucester County, New Jersey, man was taken into custody and jailed after being charged in connection with attempting to meet a 14-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity.
Joseph J. Catrambone, 38, of Deptford, New Jersey, has been formally charged with first-degree Manufacturing Child Pornography; second-degree Attempting to Lure a Child; second-degree Attempted Sexual Assault of a Minor; third-degree Attempted Endangering the Welfare of a Child; third-degree Attempting to Send Obscene Material to a Minor; and fourth-degree Attempted Criminal Sexual Contact of a Minor.
   The charges stem from an investigation that began on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, Catrambone began communicating online with a person he believed was a 14-year-old boy. The boy Catrambone was chatting with was actually an undercover Detective from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office High Tech Crimes Unit.Â
During the conversation, Catrambone sent a sexually explicit photo of himself and expressed a desire to engage in sexual acts with the child. Additionally, Catrambone requested the child to send sexually explicit photos to him. Catrambone arranged to meet the boy specific location for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.
Later that day, Catrambone was taken into custody at a pre-arranged location in Collingswood, New Jersey. Following being processed on the above-mentioned charges, Catrambone was remanded to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending future court proceedings in Camden County Superior Court in Camden, New Jersey.
