SEASIDE HEIGHTS, NJ.- Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer reported that on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, an Ocean County Grand Jury returned an indictment against Emiliano Davila, 41, of Keansburg, New Jersey, charging him with Murder in connection with the November death of his girlfriend, Mary O’Conner, 34, of Seaside Heights, New Jersey.

According to the charging information unsealed in the indictment, on November 3, 2025, members of the Toms River Police Department responded to Community Medical Center after receiving a report of a woman being dropped off with blunt force trauma to her head.

According to medical staff, the woman, later identified as Ms. O’Connor, had been dropped off at the medical center by two men who then left the area. Ms. O’Connor was found to be unresponsive, suffering from a brain bleed, and exhibited signs of bruising consistent with being strangled.

During an ensuing investigation, Detectives of the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and the Seaside Heights Police Department determined that Davila was one of the individuals who left Ms. O’Connor at the medical center. Detectives uncovered that Ms. O’Connor and Davila were in a dating relationship and that Davila had assaulted Ms. O’Connor the night before at a Seaside Heights motel where she was residing.

On November 3, 2025, Davila was taken into custody by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics Strike Force and the Brick Township Police Department and charged with Domestic Violence Aggravated Assault by way of Strangulation. He was processed on the charge and remanded to the Ocean County Jail pending trial.

On November 5, 2025, Ms. O’Connor tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the Community Medical Center. On November 6, 2025, the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office determined the Cause of Ms. O’Connor’s Death to be Blunt Force Trauma to the head, causing a Subdural Hematoma, and the Manner of Death to be Homicide.

Following the findings of the Ocean County Medical Examiner’s Office, the charges against Davila were upgraded to murder. Davila currently remains detained in the Ocean County Jail pending trial in Ocean County Superior Court in Toms River, New Jersey.
