Bayonne Man Sentenced For Sexually Assaulting A Preteen Girl For Nearly Two Years In Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, NJ.- Last Friday, a 40-year-old Bayonne, New Jersey, man learned he will be spending nearly four decades in New Jersey State Prison after being sentenced on his conviction for repeatedly raping a preteen girl whom he knew over 19 months in Jersey City, New Jersey.
According to Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello, on Friday, January 30, 2026, Jhaitan Snow, 40, of Bayonne, New Jersey, appeared in Hudson County Superior Court and was sentenced by Superior Court Judge Mitchell Pascual to 37 years in State Prison for his October 2025 conviction of child sex crimes.
In October 2025, following a trial in Hudson County Superior Court, a jury found Snow guilty of first-degree Aggravated Sexual Assault; second-degree Sexual Assault; and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. In handing down the sentence, Judge Pascual ordered Snow to serve 37 years for the charge of aggravated sexual assault, two eight-year terms to run concurrently to the 37-year term. Snow will be required to serve a mandatory minimum of 25 years of his custodial term before becoming eligible for parole pursuant to the Jessica Lundsford Act.
In addition to the term of imprisonment, Snow will be subject to parole supervision for life and be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law, and will be barred from any contact with the child pursuant to a restraining order under Nicole’s Law.
According to evidence presented during the trial, on multiple occasions beginning in August 2020 and lasting through March 2022, Snow sexually assaulted a preteen who was known to him in Jersey City, New Jersey.
   Hudson County Prosecutor Mello commended the investigative work of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Jersey City and Bayonne Police Departments, which led to the successful prosecution of Snow.Â
