PATERSON, NJ.- Authorities in Passaic County are actively investigating a shooting that left a Paterson man hospitalized Saturday afternoon, according to a joint announcement from the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office and the Paterson Police Department.
Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Department Officer-in-Charge Patrick Murray stated that at approximately 4:12 p.m. on February 21, 2026, Police Officers responded to the area of Hamilton Avenue and Rosa Parks Boulevard in the City of Paterson following receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, responding PoliceOofficers located a 28-year-old male victim, a Paterson resident, suffering from a non-fatal gunshot wound. The victim was transported to St. Joseph’s University Medical Center, where he received treatment for his injuries. His condition was not disclosed by authorities.
Investigators subsequently secured and identified a potential crime scene in the vicinity as members of the Paterson Police Department began canvassing the area for evidence, witnesses, and surveillance footage. No arrests have been reported, and the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including a possible motive or suspect description, have not yet been released.
