PHILLIPSBURG, NJ.- A Warren County jury on Friday convicted a Phillipsburg man of sexually assaulting a preteen girl, following a trial that detailed repeated acts of sexual abuse committed when the victim was under the age of thirteen.
Warren County Prosecutor Jessica L. Cardone, Chief of Detectives Brenton Warne, and Phillipsburg Police Department Chief Anthony Goodell announced that on Friday, February 20, 2026, a jury found Kevin Micucci, 39, of Phillipsburg, New Jersey, guilty of multiple criminal offenses stemming from sexual abuse that occurred in 2018 and 2019.
Following deliberations, the jury returned guilty verdicts on the following charges:
- Second-degree Sexual Assault by Contact
- Second-degree Endangering the Welfare of a Child
- Fourth-degree Lewdness
The jury found Micucci not guilty on a separate count of Sexual Assault by Contact, also a second-degree charge.
According to evidence presented at trial, the sexual acts occurred over a period of time in 2018 and 2019, when the victim, who was known to Micucci, was less than thirteen years old. Prosecutors detailed repeated inappropriate sexual contact, which ultimately led to the criminal investigation and prosecution.
The trial was presided over by the Honorable Reema Sethi Kareer, J.S.C. Following the verdict, Micucci was immediately remanded to the Warren County Correctional Center pending sentencing.
Micucci is tentatively scheduled to be sentenced on April 10, 2026.
At sentencing, Micucci faces up to 10 years in New Jersey State Prison for each second-degree conviction and up to 18 months in state prison for the fourth-degree offense. In addition to any term of incarceration imposed, Micucci will be subject to Megan’s Law registration requirements and Parole Supervision for Life, both mandatory consequences for qualifying sexual offenses under New Jersey law.
Prosecutors emphasized that the verdict reflects the jury’s careful consideration of the evidence and testimony presented during the trial, and reaffirmed the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office’s commitment to protecting children and holding offenders accountable under the law.
