U.S. Marshals Capture Woman Charged In Fatal Shooting Of 17-Year-Old Boy

WASHINGTON, DC.- U.S. Marshals have arrested a Southeast Washington, D.C. woman wanted in connection with the November 2025 fatal shooting of a 17-year-old boy, authorities announced Tuesday.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll, the homicide occurred on Saturday, November 8, 2025, when, at approximately 2:56 p.m., First District officers responded to a reported shooting in the 1900 block of C Street, Southeast, D.C.
Upon arrival, officers located a juvenile male who was conscious and breathing but suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Personnel from DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite extensive lifesaving efforts, the victim later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The decedent was identified as Tristan Johnson, age 17, of Southeast Washington, D.C.
Arrest Made After Months-Long Investigation;
On Tuesday, February 24, 2026, pursuant to a warrant issued by the D.C. Superior Court, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Jaylnn Jamison, 18, also of Southeast Washington, D.C.
Authorities confirmed Jamison was taken into custody without incident.
Jamison has been formally charged with Second Degree Murder While Armed, a serious felony offense under District of Columbia law that carries significant potential prison time if convicted.
