Police Ask For Public’s Help Identifying Individual Wanted In Assault With Intent To Rob

WASHINGTON, DC.- The Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an assault with intent to rob that occurred Friday evening in Southwest Washington.
According to D.C. Metropolitan Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll, on February 27, 2026, at approximately 7:10 p.m., members of the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department’s First District responded to a reported assault in the 500 block of C Street, Southwest, D.C.
Investigators say the suspect approached two victims and demanded their property. Authorities allege the individual attempted to forcibly take belongings from both victims. When one of the victims refused to comply with the demand, the suspect began assaulting her.
Police report that the suspect ultimately fled the scene without obtaining any property.
No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
The suspect was captured on surveillance footage in the area and is shown in the photo above.
The Metropolitan Police Department has not released additional descriptive information beyond the surveillance image but is urging members of the public to come forward if they recognize the individual or have any information that may assist investigators.
