SAN FRANCISCO, CA.- Federal prosecutors in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of California announced a series of significant criminal cases during February, including the sentencing of a San Francisco man to 20 years in federal prison for producing and distributing child sexual abuse material, and the conviction and sentencing of a Bay Area tow company operator to five years for orchestrating an arson conspiracy involving the burning of tow trucks and additional insurance fraud offenses. Federal authorities also secured indictments in a major Silicon Valley trade-secrets theft investigation involving engineers accused of stealing proprietary data from leading technology companies, underscoring the district’s continued focus on violent crime, child exploitation, fraud, and national-security-related offenses.
